Printing on Fabric

Luckily there are many different ready to use products available these days to print photos or designs directly onto fabric for use in making crafts.

June Tailor has a fantastic product that I use regularly and have been well pleased with.

Here are the steps that I use to create my fabric printed photos for use in my projects.

1) Use your photo editing software to achieve the desired effect.
2) Load your fabric printer sheet into your inkjet printer, fabric side down. Hit print!
3) Lay printed fabric sheet flat to let dry.
4) After ink is completely dry, heat set ink by using an iron on the highest DRY HEAT setting.
5) Next step is to gently rinse printed sheet in cold water. This helps to remove any excess ink.
6) Let printer sheet dry completely. (I usually lay out a towel, place the rinsed sheet on top of it, and then using another towel, blot out the excess water. The I use "sweather drying racks" that fit over the bathtub to complete the drying process.)
7) After drying is complete, iron printed sheet once more. (It is okay to use the steam setting this time if you choose.)
8) Now you are ready to create a wonderful project that will last for years, be washable, and be cherished!

Contributor's Note

There are many other brands of fabric printer sheets on the market. These just happen to be my favorite.
